Praxis Poetry prompts offer diverse approaches and pathways—from process to craft, subject, structure, rhythm, revision, the line, and more. One week might invite you to write on a specific topic or explore a contemporary form, while the next might suggest an experimental process or technique, or send you on an adventure to write somewhere new!
Past prompts and lessons have ranged from movies to mad libs, to liminal space, surrealism, angels, aubades, abecedarians, fortune cookies, coffee shops, joy walks, ars poetica, centos, fashion, fairytales, and more.
As a writer, I know that it can be challenging to write without a deadline or an assignment or a community. It’s easy to let the things we love, like poetry, fall to the bottom of the priority list.

What to Expect?
Each week, I will post a new writing prompt on the Praxis Poetry member site, along with sample poems, images, mini-lessons, links, and more, designed to spark your imagination. You will receive an email when new prompts open up. Writing prompts, poems, and comments will remain active for four weeks before being archived.
Praxis members have the option to post new original poems that respond to the weekly prompt at any time, in the comment area at the bottom of the page on which the prompt appears. Other members may offer positive feedback in response comments.
Poets interested in more constructive critical feedback, may sign up for a workshop or contact me about individual coaching.
