October Poetry Challenge: 30 Poems in 30 Days

$85.00

October 1 – 30
Asynchronous Online

Build or energize your writing practice in this fun, supportive thirty-day poetry challenge!  Join a community of writers; commit to your poetry; show up to the page; experiment; play; get inspired; be messy. And at the end of the month, you’ll have as many as 30 rough drafts to revise and evolve.

Every day in October (except Halloween), I will post a new, optional writing prompt to get your pen in motion, and every day participants will post their best efforts by midnight. No feedback, no judgment. Some drafts will be brilliant; some terrible, but that’s okay, because every day you will write something, even if it’s just a single line or image. (It’s okay if you miss some days too.) We’re going for quantity first, quality later. We’re building a practice, honing the muscles of discipline and attention. And we’ll all be striving together, encouraging each other. Doing the work. Come write with us!

We’ll meet twice on Zoom—once on Tuesday evening, on the first day of the class for an optional meet-and-greet kickoff, and again at the end of the challenge to celebrate our successes and share a favorite poem from the month.

Here's what former participants had to say about the 30/30 Poetry Challenge:

Signing up for Hollie’s 30-poems-in-30-days class was such a sweet gift to myself. I found myself excited to read the creative and detailed prompts each morning, and the example poems offered were always inspiring. It was so rewarding to stick with the challenge, and the kind words from other writers in the group made me feel ignited and at home along the way. Hollie put together an amazing course and I hope to do more in the future!
~Justin Demeter

I absolutely loved Hollie Hardy's 30 Poems in 30 Days workshop! It seemed daunting, but once I started I learned that I could get it done one poem at a time. The prompts were fun and engaging and stretched me creatively in really good ways. The community was positive and supportive, and we really felt that we achieved something together. I highly recommend this class! It will bump your poetry to the next level, and you will have fun doing it!

At first I was afraid I wouldn't be able to write a poem a day for 30 days, but with the supporting materials and prompts in the 30-Day Challenge, it turned out to be a very educational and rewarding experience. I learned about a wide variety of subjects that included poetic forms and a range of other topics that expanded my knowledge of the world and my inner self. I developed my skills as a poet and am able to express myself better as a result of participating in this class. I am so grateful that this opportunity was offered and recommend this class to those looking to grow in poetry. Thank you so much, Hollie, for your creativity and foresight in building this most wonderful experience and community.

The richness of the class, the quality of the support, and the magical influence of the resources provided, is beyond my powers of expression. I am writing again, feeling alive, taking risks, having fun, and enjoying the kind of inspired writing companionship I have sorely missed. These are the reliable trademarks of any Hollie Hardy Class or endeavor. Hollie does her homework! The evidence comes daily from the prompts, sample poems, photographs, exercise suggestions, and from a tangible sense of community. I came away with a fresh perspective, a sense of lively and inspiring companionship, and with 28 new drafts. So grateful.
